Revenge - Shadowfax and Tsuki [Private]

[Shadowfax]

Nova walked on through the dry Savannah, the limp in her step noticeable to all the animals watching her through weary eyes. She had lost everything. Her home. Her daughter. Her king. She looked battle worn and tired, the look in her eyes was either pain or anger or both, but none could tell. A leopard cub watched her from the long grass through curious eyes.

"The hell you looking at brat?!" She snarled, roaring at the cub so it retreated back to it's mother.

Nova had to catch her breath then. That roar had taken it out of her and she knew she would have to rest before long. Up ahead she could see a small tree which would provide her shade and a good look out post. The young lioness limped over to it, the pain in her leg getting worse with every step.

A Cheetah sat ontop of an outcrop, scanning the savannah with his good eye. The left side of his face had been completely scarred by a rogue lion. All the young cheetah had done was ask for help. The cheetah growled under his breath and swatted a beetle that had been climbing a blade of grass in front of him. He heard pawsteps behind him and turned to see another cheetah approaching him. The fur on the back of his neck relaxed and he turned to look out at the savannah again as the newcomer sat beside him.

"Is today the day then?" the newcomer asked.

The cheetah nodded his head without glancing at the newcomer.

"Then I wish you luck Zuberi. You know you always have a home here"

The cheetah, who's name was Zuberi, turned to his companion and nodded again before jumping off the outcrop into the long grass, unsure of his destination. The only thing that stuck in his mind was revenge.

Nova reached the shade and collapsed onto her belly. Her tongue rolled out of her mouth onto the dry earth as she lay there panting for breath. She was exhausted and weary from her travels. It was at least a week since she had left the pride lands with five lionesses on her tail. They had chased her out for conspiring against the new king. She hadn't denied it. She had always seen Scar as the true king, so when she was chased out she wasn't suprised.

Zira had taken some of the others with her to the Outlands, but Nova knew they didn't stand a chance of survival out there so she stayed behind. Zira had called her traitor, but she'd convinced Nala she was on Simba's side... until they caught her trying to rip his throat out one night. Now she was paying for that out here alone, but that suited her just fine. Nova hated other lions. With the exception of her daughter Vex.

Where she was now, she had no idea though. She just hoped she wasn't chased out like Nova had been. Nova looked up and saw a small water hole ahead. Once she had regained her strength, she would make her way over.

Zuberi kept his head down as he continued onwards. His mother had told him of the Pride Lands where Lions ruled. That's where he would go. Though how he planned to overthrow an entire pride was beyond him. Sure he was stronger than he had been when he was younger and he could easilly outrun a lion. But to take on an entire pride by himself was suicide. He needed a plan. Would he watch the pride from a distance and learn of their moves? He knew that it would be the Lionesses that did the hunting leaving the king by himself. But even so, how was he going to get inside?

He reached a watering hole and bent his head to lap at the cool water. He then raised his head and stared at his reflection. He growled and slapped a paw on the water, distorting his reflection and sending a few zebras to flee a few feet away in shock.

Nova lay there for a few minutes before she decided enough strength had returned to her. The young lioness stood up and limped over to the water hole. Something made her stop soon however as she saw a figure in the distance. Then.. Two zebra came running in her direction. Seeing Nova there, they both bolted in opposite directions and into the savanah.

Nova growled at them, but soon turned back to the figure up ahead. Was it a lion? No. It didn't smell like a lion, nor did it look like one. She growled as she always did with newcomers and limped forward boldly.

Zuberi watched as the Zebras fled, someone pleased with himself for scaring away a large prey animal. He didn't usually hunt zebra. Not on his own anyway. He had done when he had been part of a coalition. But now he went after smaller prey. As his eyes followed the zebra, he noticed movement on the other side of the watering hole. The fur on the back of his neck rose as he saw a lioness approach the water. He lowered his body into a crouch, not taking his eyes from the intruder. Was this lioness alone or did she have back up?

Nova slowed her pace once the Cheetah lowered itself into a crouch. She smirked at this and stopped a few steps away from him. He was taller than herself, but Nova was bulkier than him. She watched him through her ocean green eyes closely. She could see he too was alone, but with her leg the way it was she couldn't win a fight with him. Her eyes lingered on the scarring on his face and she nearly winced.

"Move. I want to drink" She growled, showing no sign of fear.

[Tsuki]

(Zuberi is quite small. I think King cheetahs are the same height as lions at the shoulders.....will check )

Zuberi frowned as the lioness approached him. She seemed to be alone. This was good. And she seemed to be injured. Maybe he could put her out of her misery. But as the lioness commanded him to move he frowned. Who did she think she was? She certainly wasn't royalty. Not with that injury. He then smirked.

"Then I suggest you drink from the otherside of the watering hole. I take no orders from Lions."

Nova flexed her paws, her claws retracting as she did so. The lioness never showed weakness, and her gaze hardened as Zuberi spoke to her. Nova had no respect for anyone, so she merely looked at him like he were an annoying fly.

"Heh, you've got some guts i'll give you that" Nova growled.

She leapt forward a few steps and bared her teeth. She was still tired from travelling, but she intended to teach this Cheetah a lesson for being rude to her. Royalty or not, she never backed down from a fight.
