It's funny, because the quote at the end applies for stricter gun controls as well considering the US is doing nothing to prevent these deaths from occuring over and over and over for the past... god knows, this has been a subject of debate since Columbine as far as I'm aware and there has still been no change. :headache:

Also honestly, nothing bad about posting in debates more often. Before TLG MLK was basically kept alive through off-topic discussions, anyway. It's a nicer community than most where you'd see topics like this blown completely out of proportion really. :P

I find debating threads like these far more interesting than the TLK sections :P

Well the UK has some of the tightest gun laws in the World but even I can own one and I'm basically the biggest idiot who ever lived.

^ To be fair, it's a part of lax gun laws and a very strong gun culture that's causing this problem in the US, not just gun surplus by itself.

Aye but my point is that hobbyists here can still legally and safely enjoy guns as they do. Tighter controls doesn't mean that suddenly no one can own guns anymore. It just means you need a better reason that "Uhhh IDK self defence I guess" because like yourself said, is there any actual evidence of that ever happening?

We already have a thread related to the tragedy in Orlando - I'm going to merge this one into the existing discussion.
