Glad to find another fan! It's such a great series. But yeah, the casting seems way off. Butler is albino-looking, not bald, and vaguely fat for someone who's supposed to be literally one of the best bodyguards on the planet and all-around stud. I know Artemis is young in the series, but honestly they've just aged him up a bit. Given the darker flavor of the book, it's going to be really hard to pull off with a 12 year old who looks like an 11 year old... I'm getting cringey young Sheldon vibes to be honest...
They also aged Holly down to be roughly equivalent to Artemis' age too. And her character arc gets warped somewhat since they decided Root is now a woman, meaning Holly is not the first LEPRecon officer and thus her whole 'grinded my whole life for this gotta prove myself' dynamic gets toasted. I know it's an adaptation, but in cases like these... why make wholly unnecessary changes when source material is gold and beloved?
