I've read the first two books and I really enjoyed them! Rick Riordan is incredibly talented and creative! He's such a good storyteller and this world he creates within our world is amazing. Percy's a great character, in fact all of the characters are. I really enjoy Percy though. He's so witty and funny!

I would definitely recommend this series. I know I have 3 more books to go, but I am going to be reading those very shortly. They're awesome!

I read all of them after I saw the first film (some of the few books I have read in English) Now we're just sitting tight and waiting for the Sea of Monsters movie in August.

I'm currently reading the first book (about 2/3 done) and I'm really enjoying it so far. I love the description of the journey Percy, Annabeth, and Grover are going on into the Underworld. I like it when I read books where there's a journey that I feel like I'm actually on with the characters. ^^ The Greek Mythology is so interesting to learn about and you get to know every identity of the gods. I can't wait to finish it and continue the rest of the series. :)

Okay I'm going to bump this thread a little since I finished the whole series yesterday.

I really enjoyed reading every book in the series because all the adventures were fun to imagine. Throughout each book, I've grown to love Percy more as a character because he has good character development, he's very funny, and can fight off monsters. I also like Thalia, Annabeth, Chiron, Tyson, Rachel, Grover, Nico, and Bianca. My favorite character would have to be Thalia with Percy as second. Overall, awesome series that makes Greek mythology exciting to learn about and full of adventure and action. I'm looking forward to reading the Heroes of Olympus soon. :)

Favorite to least favorite:

1. The Titan's Curse
2. The Last Olympian
3. The Lightning Thief
4. The Battle of the Labyrinth
5. The Sea of Monsters

Movie Clarisse was nothing like I pictured her in the books. I imagined Clarisse to be more butch than she was in the movie, but in my personal opinion the movies don't do the books justice so there's a lot I don't like about them.

As for the books, they are some of my favourites. It's a real escape and they take you on this amazing adventure with Percy and all the other characters. It's cleverly written and it really engages the reader. This is definitely a series I plan to read over and over again, and I do plan to read the Heroes of Olympus series which is the Percy Jackson spin-off/continuation.

i can't imagine the clarisse described in the book to be clarrisse in the movie. The movie just wouldn't be the same. And as for the series, I used to be addicted with them so much that I snagged them out of the library without my parent's consent and went to a separate room where I read it in the dark. Lol. My parents didn't want me to touch the series, cuz they think its demonic cuz it talks about multiple gods and same goes for HP cuz of the 'witchcraft.' But anyways...yeah, i love the series!

Does anyone read the Percy Jackson series

Postby TimothyMig » September 23rd, 2016, 7:10 pm

considering that so much happens in just the first few chapters, I think for the sake of the work it should be split into two movies. Hey, did anyone else feel like Rowling was just screwing with the movie people in the final fight? Thats going to need some major special effects...
