Just want to add a little bit of reasoning to not deleting topics, think of it, other people post and reply to topics on this forum than just the person who created it. It's unfair to delete everyone's posts in a topic because you don't want it to be up anymore. If mods were to go around deleting topics on here, not only would it inhibit people's freedom to post and talk about what they want, but it would make people feel uncomfortable that the owner could get angry at what someone says and just have the mods delete all the posts. It's too ripe of a thing to be abused.
Rule of thumb here, don't post threads that you don't want people to make active, or that you'll regret having posted later. Beyond that, you can have a mod close a topic, stopping people from further discussing in it, or you could just simply edit your own posts out if you don't like what you posted.
Otherwise, I get the suggestion, it would just be WAY too ripe for abuse, and that's the reason why it's not allowed per the rules.
