I like both, but I prefer Kovu over Simba. Simbas has never been my top favourite character, though it`s hard to explain why.
The first time I watched SP, I fell instantly in love with Kovu. I find him to be a very interesting and complex character (not saying anything against Simba here) and I simply like him better than Simba. *shrugs*

I prefer Simbas voice over Kovus. Kovus design over Simbas.

Simba. I always disliked Kovu.

I agree with pretty much everything PrincessKiara said, and that's why I voted for Kovu.

I won't make any effort to prove that Kovu is objectively a better developed character than Simba, but for whatever reason, I though he was a lot cooler than Simba when I was a kid. That stuck with me when I watched the movies again as an adult, so I voted Kovu.

I always liked Simba more. Yes, he was in the first Lion King, a much better movie, but even in SP, I liked him more than Kovu. For me, Kovu always felt like an empty body - he always did things because he was told to, and for the most part, did not really think for himself.

Simba on the other hand always tried to make his own decisions, even if he did so incorrectly. So in the movie, Simba's character grew much more than Kovu did, even though Kovu had to switch sides.

Simba is a much rounder, more developed character. He had a lot more to work through and to overcome, making him infinitely more interesting.

In the first TLK, Simba was my favorite. I loved his character, especially as a cub.

In the second one, however, I related more to the outsiders in general, because they were outcasts, and I'm an outcast.
And, since I'm a Shakespeare nerd (as if you couldn't tell from my username), I prefer Kovu over Simba, because in SP, Simba "plays" Tibalt (more so than he does Capulet).

I can't help but like Simba much more for reasons already stated. The original Simba, that is. I really disliked Kovu in the movie itself, but he's an interesting character to develop in fan-fictions/RPs/etc.

Whatever is this post about, I choose Simba
