Scar was the leader of the old Lion Guard?

Did anyone know about his? I just found out and thought it was strange because I hadn't seen anybody talking about it. If you didn't know basically Scar tried to use the Roar Of The Elders for evil (becoming King) but lost his power because of it; And then he became the Scar we all know and love. I don't know if I like this as it just kind of ruins it. That shouldn't be the reason he is who he is (or was). He should just be that neglected lion who went through troubles as a cub. Anyway, what do you guys think of this?
