Meh, that's just the thing. I think this will work perfectly for helping prevent spambots from registering, but about actual new members? idk but if I were a new user I would be put off with having to have each post approved before it can even become visible
Cool idea though, I can definitely see this stopping unwanted spam crap from cluttering up the new posts

Only one post has to be approved Then once their first post is approved, the rest of their posts appear without the need of approval.

It is a good plan, it will take some effort on the part of the staff to keep up with approvals, but it should strengthen the defenses.
