Whether they are or not, some of us have 0 use for them. I don't know about the others, but I don't use iTunes at all and I never will again. I don't like it. If you try going with something like that, you need to find a way to make sure the person you got will have use for it first.

^Well last year I recorded video of myself playing the piano, could you do something like that?

Idk I just don't think spending real money is in the spirit of this event

Well if you enter and get me, I'll take an iTunes card. Can never have enough Men Without Hats in my life. I think iTunes cards are region locked BTW FYI FTW and other such acronyms.
But yeah, there's nothing saying you can't gift E-purchases to other people (like a Steam game or something for instance) just make sure the person can actually use it is all
