Here I will present my TLK-poems, most of them are about Kiara and Kovu, but I have written some about other characters too. Enjoy!
Kovus Memories (A poem illustrating how the memories of Zira still plagues Kovu in his dreams.)
Her prescense haunts me in my sleep,
I see her eyes and twisted smile.
Upon awakening, I weep.
Taking comfort in the morning sun,
I calmly step outside
To gaze upon the proud Pride Lands
The place where I reside.
Morning, day hold joy for me
But the evenings bring me despair
For I know I will be screaming soon
As Im tortured by my nightly fear.
Kovu’s Grief
Life is good, what can be so bad,
Kovu my love tell me why you are sad.
My mother is evil, she wants me to kill,
And I all I can do is bend to her will.
Does he love me or hate me, I cannot tell.
I try to do good things, and she just yells.
I am no puppet, I am no machine,
I can become more than she’s ever been.
She’s lost in her anger, grief and despair
I cannot do anything to try and save her.
But in your eyes I see love and joy,
And I know you won’t use me as a toy,
So I will stay forever with you,
And live together as one is what we will do.
Kovu’s Bliss
So I cry tears of gratefulness
And smile in pure delight
Because I now live happily
With no dark dreams of fright.
No longer do I feel the pain
That grew inside my soul.
It was put there by my mother
To make me hard and cold.
But Kiara made me realize
That life indeed is good.
My mother never taught me that
But I know that she should.
I am so glad and free
With Kiara as my wife
Gone are pain and misery,
I have started a new life.
And soon within her body
A great treasure will lie.
It is the symbol of our love,
And it will never die.
Silenty the years go by
But our love remains.
Forgotten is my former life
And all its scorn and pains.
Our treasure will keep growing
So healthy, strong and free.
Our love has been immortalized
And will forever be.
Night
It illustrates Kiara’s thoughts when she searches for Kovu at night. (After Simba has exiled him.)
I look at the trees with bleeding branches,
My heart is bleeding too.
My heart knows only one desire,
My darling, that it you.
I seek the stars for awnsers,
But they are silent and cold.
But in them I see your eyes,
So strong and bold.
You are a foreigner in your own land.
Father
Father, why do you worry?
I will not dissapear.
Do you not trust me?
Father, why are you crying?
I try to obey you.
Do you not see me trying?
Do you not see me?
Father, why are you yelling?
You give me no freedom.
Do you not love me?
