Meteorologist on TV: "I like seeing the cumulus build as the time lapse goes on..."
While there was clearly rain already falling in very apparent precipitation shafts underneath those convective cloud towers in the time lapse video? Really??? There's actually an already existing term for that that makes 'Cumulus' wrong, AND that you should already know right off the bat. And that's 'CumuloNimbus'. Where even as an "amateur" weather geek, I already knew that -Nimbus or -Nimbo means precipitation is falling underneath.
