I always have my ceiling fan on at night even though it's ten below freezing and the ground is covered in snow and I'm pretty much perpetually cold. I'm not sure why I do this.

My mom runs her AC even during the cold months. It drowns out noise. She goes to bed at around 7:30 most nights, so you can see how neighbors partying would keep her awake for quite a while if she didn't drown them out.
