Sleepy. Note to self: 4 and a half hours sleep it turns out isn't quite enough. I think six is my break even point.
Luckily I don't have a whole lot going on today though. :)

Edit: good luck to everyone who are currently taking all their exams.

^ Civ is addictive tho xP

Slightly worried, but also cautiously optimistic. Things turned out better than expected :)

Eh so so. It's been a mixed day today. Or rather yesterday since it's early morning now lol.

Went to an antique shop earlier with my friend which was an experience. I think that's the only shop I have ever been to where you actually have a person who works the door and just opens the lock for potential customers to come in one at a time... reason being of course is that some of the stuff in there cost more than like five times the price of my car and then some. But ended up finding a lot of cool albeit probably not useful in my lifetime tidbits about antiques and what to look for etc.
Only went in there to look for a clock for the living room redo... But yeah £12,000 for a clock. I didn't even feel comfortable in there, my anxiety was like " DO NOT TOUCH OR EVEN LOOK AT ANYTHING FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T BREATHE TOO HARD!"

Aaaand then I ended up breaking up with my partner this evening. Which to be honest, that relationship wasn't really going anywhere but it does kind of suck basically losing a friend you got on well with.

Then played a game of Civ V with my friend and talked about stuff. Which tbh I kind of needed and was actually a lot of fun and got a lot of crap off my chest. Very rare I ever finish a game in one session but we were just chilling and talking about life and the hours just shot by. :)

Still kinda sad tho but I think a bit of sleep might help. Seeing the part of the family I actually get on well with later too :) hope my nephew will be there.

Thank you! :) I actually am feeling a little better about it today.
I guess it's just that I'm getting older and a lot of my friends are getting married or having kids and some of them already have but then there's me just single again.

But other than that I have a lot to be happy about, just got to stay focused on that :)

Actually somewhat good right now.

Weeks ago, I sent my resume to someone my dad knows. On Friday, my dad told me they finally looked at it and said it's the best resume they've ever seen. Considering my lack of interviews, I didn't believe it. But I've spent literally hundreds of hours working on that damn resume, so I thought maybe it is true. Either that, or perhaps the guy just hasn't seen many resumes.

Later that day, I got an automated email saying that I am actually qualified for a position that I applied to. That's not something that's happened before, so I was pleasantly surprised. Apparently, I will be contacted "If an interview is needed." Maybe I can expect that to happen soon.

Then on Saturday night, I missed a call from someone regarding one of the other positions I applied to. So, I went back to look up what the position and company were, as well as what I'd noted from that opening. This was one that I was confused about and didn't expect to get: the title of the job was listed as "manufacturing engineer I," but the description seemed to be asking for a mid or senior level engineer. I applied anyway because... well, what the hell, why not.

I thought that one might have been a mistake--either in the position title, position description, and/or the phone call that I got. So, I was keeping my expectations low. Today, I called the guy back. I was going to ask him about what kind of candidate they were expecting, but I didn't have to. I called him at a bad time so he didn't have my resume in front of him, but he specifically mentioned things that he'd read on it. I didn't have to remind him who I was or what position I'd applied for; he already knew. He was reaching out to everyone who'd applied, and he read my resume thoroughly and remembered me.

That was basically a phone screen interview, and I was told I may or may not get selected to schedule an in-person interview next week.

TL;DR: after a month of continuous disappointment and bad news, I finally get some good news three days in a row.

Read all of that :) but good for you though.
That's a trick to finding a job especially in a field you want, just never stop and you'll get there. And for what it's worth, I think they'd be lucky to employ you. So if you do and up getting to go to an interview for those jobs, be confident because you got this.

I'm feeling pretty good today actually :) which is good. Had a bit of a weird week last week so a good start to this one was needed.
