[Open] Twin catastrophe

Apiyo nodded in agreement. She knew what Nova spoke was the truth, she needed a pride, otherwise she wouldn't survive. She took one last longing look back towards her pride and sister then followed Kijicho, head held high.

Nova smiled as Apiyo finally obeyed. She walked along behind the cub, ready to grab a hold of her if she tired.

"So, what was your name then cub?"

Apiyo looked back at Nova, "It's Apiyo. Where are we goin' anyways? I'm hungry" she whined softly.

"Nice name" Nova said thoughtfully as they walked along together.

"We're heading back to the pride now. They recently killed a gazelle. Im sure there is some left" She said softly, very unlike herself.

Nova had a soft spot for cubs, though she would always show them how brutal the world could be and how to toughen them up.

"How big is your pride?" Apiyo asked. She looked back at Nova and didn't see the log in her path. She tripped over it and sprawled spread eagle on her back.

Nova rolled her eyes as the cub tripped over the log.

"Idiot cub" Nova said, rolling Apiyo over with her muzzle so she was standing again.

"Look where your going. You could have walked into anything" She said harshly, but then remembered her question.

"Big enough. No males either"

Apiyo glared at the log that tripped her. "Stupid log" she growled, the walking beside Nova, "what do you mean that there are no males? Don't you need a King?"

"Kijicho is queen and she hates males and feels we do not need a king. We rescue or invite lone lioness' who wish to join the pride" Nova said.

She never understood why Kijicho detested males. Nova shook her head. She remembered the day she joined the pride.

"It's not much further" Nova said, trying to change the subject.

"Good, I'm tired and hungry!" Apiyo complained, then she grinned. She leapt at Nova and clawed at her sides.

Nova looked at the cub as she clawed at her sides.

"What are you doing?" Nova asked, confused as to why she was suddenly clawing at her.

"You call that attacking? More like tickling"
