(Private rp for Iri and Nine) Grumpies

[Nine]

(Woop, Caligo and Chaltuu, two grumpies, one universe XD)

Caligo stretched himself and laid down on the dusty ground. He had been walking around, making sure no one was to close to his cavern, and had used a lot of energy on it.
He bowed his head and started grooming his messy, two toned mane, but gave up and laid down, relaxing on the sun heated ground. He perked his auds and closed his dark yellow eyes.

[Iri]

[YESSSS]

Chaltuu had been hunting. She swiftly sprinted after a fleeing gazelle. "No, you don't!" she growled, leaping after it. She gasped as she tripped over a nearby lion she hadn't noticed, then grunted as she hit her chin on the earth. She snarled out loud, overly angry that she had missed the first gazelle she had seen in at least a week. Fury bubbled up in her stomach and her claws unsheathed. She had to resist the urge to slash the bark off of a nearby sapling. Her brow furrowed and her jaws parted slightly, showing her yellowish teeth.

[Tsk tsk, Chaltuu. DENTAL HYGIENE WOULD YOU?]

[Nine]

Caligo, who had not seen the lioness or heard her, opened his yellow eye widely and looked over his shoulder, glaring at her he hissed back "Are you blind?! Watch were you are going next time" he grunted and sat up, his scarred eye closed as he did so.
He lashed his long tail and shook his mane, still shocked over that the reddish lioness had tripped over him... Wait, red fur? He watched the reddish female with a raised brow, clearly surprised about the strange fur color.
It had been some time since he had seen a reddish lioness.

[Iri]

Chaltuu growled and spat right back. "Oh, I'm sorry, your face is so flat I probably didn't notice it!" she snapped back. She wasn't necessarily angry at the stranger, but she had a pretty impulsive nature and was still rather frustrated. Her long, thick, scruffy red fur bristled with annoyance and she sheathed and unsheathed her claws rhythmically, trying to cool her rising temper down. She hadn't been this irritated since... She didn't really know when.
Chaltuu saw him raising his brow at her. Probably her fur color, like usual. She glared back, wishing she had some normal fur color like tawny or brown or even greyish. But no, it had to be red. She had never seen another lioness with rusty-red fur like hers. If she did, that lioness would probably be exiled and alone, like her.

[Nine]

He grunted, but didn't answer. He shook his mane and looked away "What are you even doing here?" he asked and looked at the dead landscape.
There hadn't been food or water in a while and it was easy to see that by Caligo's pelt the formed around his ribcage. He looked back at her and flicked one of his ears and opened his scarred eye, scanning the strange colored feline once again "Nice pelt by the way" he mumbled, not trying to be sarcastic but friendly.
He didn't want a fight, not in the condition he was in at the moment.

[Iri]

"Umm, thanks?" Chaltuu said, wrinkling her muzzle slightly. She wondered if he was being sarcastic or not. She sheathed her claws and grunted slightly.
Chaltuu flicked her tail slightly, her torn ear perking up slightly as she heard some bird's call. Hmm. She wondered what that was. Sparrow? Probably not. Did those even live where she was? She turned her attention back to the male with the bi-toned mane, her narrowed eyes like little slits, full of suspicion but curiosity at the same time.

[Nine]

"You are welcome..." he said and closed his 'black-eye', as some of the few lions that had seen him called it. He stood up and perked his large ears, heading towards a tree, crouching and slowly waited.
A small bird was hiding in the tall plant giants crown, but had not seen the large male stalk over to the tree. Caligo leapt up onto one of the tree's arms and unsheathed his long, thorn-like claws and slashed the bird, making the small thing falling to the ground. He leapt down and licked his claws, clearly not interested in the little piece of prey.
"So what are your name, miss?" he asked, perking his auds towards the female, his two toned mane ruffled in the breeze as it went by him and the red furred lioness.

[Iri]

"Chaltuu," Chaltuu called. "What's yours?" She twitched her tail a little. Her name meant "first-born daughter"; she wondered why her parents named her that if they'd just disown her and exile her. They didn't see her as a daughter; she didn't see them as parents. They treated her like a worthless pile of rotting garbage, and she had only been returning the favour. If they treated her badly, she'd treat them badly. If they treated her kindly, she would have treated them kindly.
She may as well not try to wish for something that wouldn't come. That was love. Eh, what did love matter? She had no siblings, no friends, and no family in total, so it wasn't like any love was given to her, and she wouldn't give love to others.

[Nine]

"Caligo, nice to meet another soul that aren't prey" he said and stood up to stretch his long body. Caligo searched through is memory, wondering if he had ever meet this lioness, but everything was blurry as always.
He snorted and sat down "So, where do you come from, if I may ask?" he asked, trying to start another conversation.
It was nice with... Well, if you could call this company. Not many lions came through these places, mainly because of the lack of food, water and other lions. Last time he had seen another lion around these dead parts, was at least a year ago or maybe even more.
What was this lioness even doing here?
He shook the thought away and calmly glanced around.

[Iri]

[I had to go do stuff. Sorreh. xD]

"I come from the Barren East Pride," Chaltuu said. "And you?" That was the name of her father's pride, after all, and she belonged there. No... She used to belong there. To be honest she never actually felt a sense of belonging in the Barren East. She never really felt like she belonged anywhere, actually.
Ever since her parents had disowned her and exiled her, she was a nomad, travelling from place to place. She never really made a true home anywhere. She'd make a makeshift den for the night, usually in a nice, cold pile of rocks or boulders, and then she'd move again in the morning. She had nowhere to go, no family to visit, no friends to talk to. She was a loner, never really speaking with other beings unless she was just having a neutral chat.
