(Private rp for Iri and Nine) Grumpies

[Nine]

"I-" he stopped and looked downwards.
Where did he come from? The only clear things he remembers was that he was laying on the ground, soaked in blood that was not his. He unsheathed his claws and dug the deeply into the ground, flattening his ears as he did.
"I come from the place call... No where" he mumbled and looked away. I remember the dark lands, the things that would make any lion's fur stand up straight. The land who no one survives.
Expect him.
He was lucky to even be alive. Or was he?

[Iri]

"Sounds like an interesting home you have there then," Chaltuu said, her voice dripping with obvious sarcasm. Her paws scuffed at the ground and she still looked angry. Not about the lost prey though- she could find something else to eat. Just anger because... Well, she didn't have a clue. She didn't know.
It was probably her father that caused her constant hate at the world. Either it was passed down from the two-faced, lying schemer, or it was just caused by him. Most likely both.
Her father was so kind and considerate to his pride. They were his biggest concern. He cared for his pride, he made sure they all had full bellies and a comfortable place to sleep at night. But no, it was his daughter that was always the burden, the mistake, the obscenity of nature who was never meant to exist in the first place.

[Nine]

Caligo rolled is eye at her and snorted "Still better than a hell hole, oh, I mean a 'pride'" he hissed and lashed his long tail once again.
He couldn't stand prides, how they protect each other, how they always got a good meal. He flattened his ears at the thought of those flea free bastards, how they always got the good lands, the best prey, everything.
He stood up and slowly moved towards a large cavern, his tail lashing after him as he walked towards it. He looked back, his dark yellow eye narrowed at the rust colored female "Watch out for the hyenas, they always come around noon" he said and walked into the large cavern.
He stopped by a large pool, the water was clear, but so low that it only got to his paws. He jumped onto a large rock in the middle of the small pool and laid down, relaxing.

[Iri]

"Oh, believe me, my pride was a burden," Chaltuu called after him, rolling her eyes.
Humph. At least he wasn't like the usual male she stumbled upon- always so playful and cheery. This one at least didn't ask "What happened to your fur?"
Chaltuu still felt bitter resentment towards her father- always bullying her and putting her down. And her mother... Ugh... That rotting fur-face never stood up for her daughter, never defended the russet lioness against the harsh, and dare Chaltuu say hurtful, words that Kivuli always spat at her. And her mother was negligent too... Only giving Chaltuu a bit of milk and leaving her daughter out in her own cave. Just to get rid of Chaltuu, no doubt.

[Nine]

He lashed his tail, making it hang from the cold rock. He watched the female, his ears pinned to his skull as he blinked.
Must have had a rough start as well... he thought and sheathed his long claws. Most felines with ordinary fur colors had rough starts. He himself, with his dark coat and his even darker mane, weren't loved in his old pride, where light colored furs where the hit at the moment.
His memory were blurred and there were only a few things that he could remember.
The day he lost his eye.
The day his father kicked him out because of his fur.
The day he traveled into No where
And the day he escaped from it.
He shook his mane and sighed. The female must have had bad time as well, but he didn't dare to ask her what happened. She was welcome in the cave, if she even would come to it.

[Huh, both were kicked out because of their fur. xD Meanie dads, they both had. <3]

Chaltuu lifted her paw and smoothed the fluffed up fur on her forepaw. Not because she felt like cleaning her pelt, but because she was bored and had nothing to do.
She could tell by his gruff nature- one that matched hers- that he had probably been through a lot in his life. It wasn't her business to know, so she shouldn't waste her time wondering about it. Besides, she had her own problems to think about; such as how she would find something to eat, how she would find a path to the mountains. That was where she was headed- the mountains, where it was dark nearly all the time, it was barren and empty, with no one there to bug her, and it was snowy almost every day. That dry, frigid wasteland was filled with rocks and cliffs and ravines. No soft dirt and grass, just coldness everywhere. That was how she preferred it.

[Nine]

(Caligo: Dad, I hurt my knee ;-; Caligo's dad: ...You are useless, get out of meh house! >:I)

Caligo scratched his ear and wrinkled his nose as the scent of hyenas. He flicked his ears and growled slightly. He lashed his tail and looked outside, wondering if the lioness where still out there. He closed his eye and opened his scared eye. The sound of cackling made him open up his other eye and look at the exit to his cavern.
Five hyenas were standing there, two of them were females and stood in front of the three other hyenas, which were clearly males "Well, isn't it our old friend, Caligo, how are you feeling?" the biggest female asked and moved towards him. Her long shaggy mane were messy and soaked in blood.

[Iri]

[Chaltuu: "Father, I think I have a thorn stuck in my paw, can you-" Kivuli: "Shut up."
So, both Chalty and Caligo had rough lives, hmm?]

Chaltuu heard the cackling. She had started to wander away, but she returned as she heard the hyenas.
She growled. No, she wasn't being all protective of the stranger she had met; she was never like that. But she had an enormous grudge against the filthy creatures with that weird laugh. Unsheathing her claws, a low snarl escaped from her throat. She didn't want to defend that lion- she wanted revenge. She had wanted vengeance against each and every hyena she encountered. They, along with Kivuli and Uangaze, were the reasons she was so angry all the time. But that was no one's business but her own.

[Nine]

Caligo raised a brow at he female hyena "What do you want, Tauni?" he asked the large female and lashed his tail. He knew these three way to well. The female, Tauni moved forward and sat down near the water "Well, as always we would like to share your den, Kamili is pregnant and needs a place to stay" she said, her voice serious as she spoke to the large lion male.
Caligo looked at the smaller female, he belly was larger than normally and two of the male hyenas was by her side, properly protecting the pregnant female. Caligo sighed "Fine, you can have the tunnels, there are small caves in there" he said and pointed over to a hole in the wall that leaded down to some small caverns.
The largest male, Remordeo, stepped forward and headed towards the cavern before nodding at the male "Thank you" he umbled and helped the pregnant female down to the cavern.
Caligo wrinkled his nose. Hyenas may be filthy, annoying and tricky creature, but if he didn't help he would be dead before the sun rose and a large pack of hyenas would have a meal for three days.

Chaltuu wrinkled her muzzle in disgust. Oh, those stupid laughing beasts deserved everything that came to them... But one was clearly expecting, and it was in her moral code to not harm any expectant animal, or a youngster of any kind.
She turned and made it seem like she was just walking away, not wanting to be caught. She snorted, curling her lip at the repulsive hyenas. Her red fur bristled as she made her way down to the river, her obstinate nature keeping her from looking back at the male lion with the scarred eye and the dark pelt. Dipping her paws in the cool water, she lapped some of it up, before sitting down. Not because she wanted to wash the grime and dirt and grass from her pelt- but because she liked the feel of cold water. With her thick dark red pelt, it was hard not to get overheated when the sun beat down on her every day. Water helped take the feeling of burning alive away.
