(Private rp for Iri and Nine) Grumpies

[Nine]

Caligo felt the animal grow limp and let go off it's throat, making it land onto the dusty ground. He snorted and slowly started ripping the flesh off of it's bones. After a bit there was only a little meat an the bones left and he left to go to the river. He stopped by the riverbank and slowly moved towards the low water. He lashed his tail and started drinking from the water.
The sky was slowly getting darker and darker, small and large stars escaped from their hiding places and appeared on to dark blanket. He raised his head and looked upwards, watched the skies. He closed his eyes and sighed as the cold night breeze washed over his pelt and mane.
It was peaceful.

[Iri]

A dark, cold feeling crept up on Chaltuu, as if fresh snow was beginning to fall in little white flakes. She remembered before she had opened her eyes, she had been poking around in the snow, feeling bits of frost lining the cave walls. She had always loved the feeling of ice, frost, snow, and cold weather in general, ever since she was a puny bundle of fluff.
She grunted as her claws scraped at rock. Considering it had been just the sun's downfall when she woke up, she'd keep going until dawn broke out over the horizon, spilling its blinding golden rays of sunlight. Stupid morning and daytime.
Chaltuu's sharp, pale green gaze rested on the raven, roosting in a tree for the night. Humph! That weak, pathetic bird couldn't even handle flying. Always, to Chaltuu, that had seemed like such an easy way to travel.

[Nine]

Caligo sighed and slowly headed towards the mountains, climbing it slowly and carefully. The male knew this place, he had been up here whenever it had gotten to warm or if he wanted closer to the stars. He stopped and looked around, but headed upwards until he came to a large ledge with a cave. He sat down and looked upwards the stars.
Some lions believed that their dead family members turned into stars. But not Caligo. He thought that his worst nightmares where in those small, shining lights that live on the night sky. The dreams of turning insane. The dreams of hatred and being useless.
He dug his claws into the freezing snow.

[Iri]

Chaltuu was surprised that the male was also travelling up towards the mountains. Was he following her? No, he wouldn't follow someone like her, who was oh-so-cursed. She lashed her tail and continued to move, not wanting the other lion to notice that she was watching him with a quirked eyebrow.
She rolled her eyes again. She swore that the next time she rolled her eyes, her glowing light green "orbs" would get stuck in some stupid position. Her claws clicked on the rocks and boulders as she clambered up, trying to find a way to get to the mountain's summit without falling off and dying.

[Nine]

Caligo perked his ears as he heard the claws hit the stone "May I guess..." he started and flicked one of his ears "Chaltuu, am I right?" he asked and turned his head to look after the female. He turned his head towards the sky and flicked his tail.
The skies lanterns reflected in his yellow eye and made them shine brightly. He started wondering why the female were up here, but didn't questioning it.

[Iri]

"Uhmm..." Chaltuu wondered; how did that lion know her name? Did he know about her somehow? No... He couldn't have. But she did find it a bit creepy that he knew her name. She had conversed with him once and that was an argument...
"Yes. What's it to you, though?" Chaltuu said gruffly, turning her head from him and continuing to climb up the rocks. She was attempting- and failing- to catch her footing, but she was making at least some progress. Her claws were scraping at the boulders, causing little tiny pieces of rock to roll down the enormous stones. Her ears were flattened somewhat against her head as she struggled to clamber up. She was running away from Kivuli, and Uangaze, her pride, and everything and everyone who had made her life the living Underworld that it was.

[Nine]

"Nothing, was wondering what you were doing back there, almost falling down the cliff side" he said, sarcasm in his deep voice. He knew a easier way up and down, but kept his mouth shut about it. He yawned and blinked, tired of looking at the shining stars that hurt his yellow eye he turned around and looked at her with a half closed eye.
The snow were laying like a blanket on top of the stone and underneath the soft snow, ice. He wrinkled his nose slightly. He wasn't the largest fan of snow, but he found it cold and refreshing.

[Iri]

"Well, then, who are you?" Chaltuu snapped in her own husky, deep-for-a-female voice. Humph. She was fine on her own, and she wasn't like most mountain-climbers; always falling down cliff sides and ravines. She resumed her struggled clambering up the mountain; her claws digging into little crevices between the stones and boulders. She hauled herself up, forcing herself not to pant or show any signs of being tired. Supporting herself with her hind legs, she pushed herself forward, ascending to the next ledge. Not having a huge fear of heights, she glanced down and saw scattered pebbles from where she had accidentally loosened them from the stones they had been resting on.

[Nine]

"Caligo, the lion you oh so clumsily fell over when hunting" he answered and watched her climb "You do know that will take you up the whole night if you want higher up" he said and lashed his tail looking at the higher ledges. He had tried to climb those before, it wasn't the funniest in the world if you asked him. Took him a little bit to even get to the third ledge.
"I know a easier way if you would like me to show it to you"

[Iri]

"No thank you," Chaltuu called back. Not really in a polite refusal- her voice was as brusque as ever.
She rolled her eyes again. She was fine on her own. Deciding to yank herself up to the second ledge, she stumbled a little. Scraping her chin, she silently cursed herself as she felt the bottom of her muzzle cut a little. Her claws were still caught in between the little crevices and cracks in the rocks, and her subtle muscles strained as she worked at heaving herself up. It was hard, she had to admit, but she didn't feel like getting help.

[By the way, I'm not trying to make her super-lioness and have these muscles. She's just a naturally strong lion. That's not, however, to say "Oh my gosh, yep, she can defeat a lion in a battle within three seconds, she's tough" and all that.]
