The Pride Lands (Amanda, Moka, kovu42)

Bakari heard the princess' scream and he turned to see the leader biting into her hind leg. Oh no you don't! he thought as he rushed in and pounced onto the hyena's back, pinning him into the ground and he dug his teeth into it's shoulder making him yowl in pain. Suddenly, he felt claws grip into his back and tug him off the leader and all of his weight crashed down ontop of the hyena that had distracted him. He turned back to the leader, his eyes glaring and his lips pulled back in a snarl. "Your fight is with me, leave her out of this!" he stepped in between the hyena and the princess. "You want her, you'll have to go through me." He lunged at the hyena without waiting for any response, but the hyena was too fast for him and dodged to the side, raking claws down Bakari's side and biting down into his tail. He kicked the leader in the side of the head with his hind paws and the moment he let go of his tail, Bakari lunged foreward. Instead of going for the throat, which the hyena saw coming, Bakari dug his claws into the ground midleap and pulled himself into the ground and rushed under the hyena's belly. The plan worked and he caught the leader by surprise giving him the chance to bite down with all of the force in his body into the leaders leg. He heard a loud yelp and felt the hyena's hind paws beating down on his head, smashing his head into the dirt. Hold on a little longer, Bakari thought, I can't let him hurt her! His journeys had taken their tolls on him and he was too weak to throw the hyena off. His last stratagy was literrally in his jaws and he twisted, bending the hyena's leg hoping he could break it.

[Panda-chan]

Uzuri had watched petrified as the hyena and the lion had battled ferociously, one to save her, one to kill her. When she saw Jino smashing Bakari's head in the dirt and saw him wincing in pain, she knew what she had to do. She leapt onto Jino's back and bit him hard on the neck. She felt him release his grip on Bakari who scrambled out from under the hyena's belly.

[Moka]

Jino shook Uzuri off of himself. He looked around at the other fights taking place. Bakari's help seemed to have paid off. The lions and lionesses were fighting off the hyenas. Some were even running from the battle.

[Panda-chan]

Meanwhile, the King was having problems of his own. All the hyenas seemed to be trying to get after him. Right now he was battling about four at once. Even though he didn't ask for it, more lionesses were running from their fights to help him.

Bakari felt the warm blood trickle down his forehead and onto his muzzle from the gashes on his head. "What happened?" he wondered, confused at the hyena suddenly letting go. He realized he couldn't see Uzuri. He found her biting Jino's neck and adreniline pumped him up once again. Bakari lunged at the leader and raked his claws across the his face. He batted away another hyena that came to help and he went to pin the hyena when he remembered Uzuri was still biting at his neck. "Uzuri, get off!" he ordered, hoping she would listen.

[Moka]

Blood was gushing out of Jino's neck. When Bakari had him down, he didn't even fight to protect himself. His head fell back in a sleepy lifeless gaze.

[Panda-chan]

Uzuri let go at last. She shuddered when she saw Jino and limped over to rejoin the fight.

He saw the leader laying there, not moving, not even breathing. A sigh of releafe escaped his muzzle and then panic struck him again. He was wrong, Uzuri wasn't there at all! "Uzuri? Where are you?" he searched the battle field with his eyes, seeing the king battling four hyenas at once, but he couldn't see the princess.

[Panda-chan]

Uzuri heard Bakari shouting for her, but didn't have enough strength to call back. She had no idea battling could be so difficult. She had only fought one hyena and she already felt like giving up.
No! she almost screamed at herself. No, she could not give up now, not while she was fighting for her kingdom!

[Moka]

A hyena headbutted her in the side and she flipped over on the ground. Then another tried to attack Bakari.
