The Pride Lands (Amanda, Moka, kovu42)

Bakari felt a hyena butt into him. He turned on the hyena, but noticed it wasn't paying attention to him, but to his leaders lifeless body. He roared right behind the hyena and pinned him down on his chest and he whispered into his ear. "Take a good look. This is what happens when your kind tries to attack a lion's territory. Now leave and don't ever cross a lion again!" he spat in the hyena's ear as he let it go. He smiledm triumphantly as the hyena left the battle and he turned to help the king, but realized the hyena's resolve was failing as they noticed their dead leader. He rushed in and pulled one of the hyena's away from the king and threw him against a nearby rock, knocking him out.

Suddenly, he noticed a hyena picking on the princess and he bowled into the hyena at full speed, hearing the hyena yelp with surprise. He dug his teeth into the hyena's throat and held them in, feeling the warm blood flow from it's neck. Finally, the hyena went limp in his jaws and he dropped him on the floor. "No-one will touch her!" he roared to the nearby hyena's who all began backing away until more lioness's came into the fray.

Uzuri had felt herself being flung off her paws and land with a thump on the ground. The hyena smirked and ran full speed at her. Obviously it hadn't expected her to go flying off her paws.
Just before it could smack a paw at her, she rolled off to the side and the hyena smacked the air. Then Bakari came, and sank his teeth into the hyenas neck until it went limp.
Uzuri, meanwhile, snuck up behind all the lionesses that ran to help Bakari and turned her attention towards the Old Tree Stump. That was, after all, what the hyenas had come for. She knew she had to guard it.

[Moka]

The hyenas were now in full retreat after witnessing the rage of Bakari. Some lionesses were teasing them by pinning them down and watching them scramble.

Even the four hyenas that were battling King Mbwana had been reduced to only two, which both scrambled out of the way of his huge and deadly paws. They bumped and jostled one another, trying to get away from the furious King at the same time.

Bakari felt how tired he was and a wave of exhaustion surged through him. The padded over to Uzuri, each step sapping the last of his strength, but he had to make sure she wasn't badly injured. "Uzuri," he said as he finally reached her. "Are you ok?" he looked her over and checked her wounds, but nothing seemed too serious. His legs suddenly gave out from under him and he schlumped down onto the ground. His head was beginning to spin, and the blood was still flowing from the wounds on his tail, hind leg and his forehead. He only then realized that he didn't have the strength to make it through a hunt on his own, and his only option now was to be at the full mercy of the king. Maybe this battle would prove his motives, if only he could stand up.

Uzuri could see that Bakari was barely conscious and reacted instantly despite the gash in her leg; she limped over to him and grabbed a pawful of leaves that were lying around and pressed them to his wounds in an effort to stop the bleeding. They would have to suffice as band-aids until the Shaman could find something better.
To her relief they actually worked, although Bakari still looked very pale and was barely moving. She looked around her to the ground that was littered with the wounded and dead bodies of lionesses and hyenas. Already she could see that most of the lionesses were recovering and were chasing the last of the hyenas off with much snapping and biting.
Suddenly she saw the figure of her father standing in front of her.
"He saved us Father! How can you-" she began, but the king cut her off.
"Run and get Auni [The Shaman. His name means "help, assist]. There are many injured lionesses here." He turned to the lionesses that were conscious, "Take all the injured to the Infirmary." He paused. "Take...er...Bakari too."
The lionesses obeyed without objection. Uzuri was overjoyed. Her father had finally learned to trust Bakari! But she knew she must hurry. She had to save Bakari and the lionesses. She sped off at once in the direction of the mountains where the wise old Shaman lived.

Bakari barely overheard the king giving orders, and he felt a surge of relief knowing that the king finally trusted him, and hopefully wasn't going to have him killed at this point. He could feel the exhaustion in his aching limbs, but he was bound and determined to get himself to the shaman under his own willpower. He'd made it for years without help, these last steps as a rogue would be a defining moment for him. He tried to get up, grunting with effort before his legs buckled beneath him. Come on! he ordered himself, trying to rise once again only to collapse in a heap of blood matted fur.

Khali watched the scene from a distance. Although he didn't fight to the extremes that Bakari did, he was still injured from the fight. The lion limped over to the lionesses. They were bruised and some were bleeding, but no injuries looked serious nor were any killed in the fight. The only seriously injured was Bakari, but two unharmed lionesses lifted him up on their shoulders and began to walk towards the Infirmary.

Bakari was thankful for the lift and let out a soft, course purr of gratitude. His tail had finally stopped stinging, and the wounds in his shoulder didn't feel so bad. The only thing that concerned him at this point was his bleeding forehead. Uzuri had helped with his other wounds, but he was quickly loosing conscienceness ((i have no idea how to really spell that)) and the blood was dripping into his eyes. Hopefully, he'd get help soon.

(Amanda what kind of animal did you have in mind for the shaman?!)
