More TLK AU Lion Quest prequel poem. It is from the POV of my OC Shujaa, mate of Sarafina and father of Nala. Here, he has just been exiled by Scar at the start of his reign. No flames or mean comments.

Sadness Like No Other


I am Shujaa, mate of Sarafina and father of our daughter Nala

Today has been tragic

In a stampede in the the gorge, Simba and Mufasa died

Scar and Zira have taken the throne

However, not all is well

Scar allowed hyenas into the Pridelands

Moreover, he has exiled me

He was obviously afraid of me, so he forced me to choose

Either I left or Nala would be executed, because she was not his cub

I could not bear to see my tiny daughter die, so I agreed to leave

With sadness in my heart and eyes, I was forced out of the Pridelands by the hyenas

Once out, I settle in an area just outside the border

I feel a sadness like no other

Apparently, Scar didn't care what happened to me afterward, as there were no more searches

A few days later, Zazu finds me

Sarafina had sent him to find me

I tell him to tell her where I am and that I plan to return eventually

I also remind her to have hope and stay strong for our daughter

She will need it

Dark times are ahead

I just hope that I will survive long enough to see my mate and my little girl again
