"Boris," he replied simply, "and I can't really take care of a wolf... kid. You have to have, I dunno, a mother, and I can't feed you, and..."

Balto took another step forward. "I'm only part wolf. My dad was a husky," he said.

"Oh. Well, whaddya want to eat? I have... seeds. A salmon fry. What?"

Balto shook his head. "I don't really care. Maybe we can go try to find my mother after that. She's a white wolf," he said.

Boris tossed him the salmon fry, and watched as he gobbled it up. "Okay. Well, where should we look?"

OOC: Should we do Jenna and Steele now?

OOC: Sure. They'll be pups at the moment.

Balto looked around. "Let's try the way I came," he said. Meanwhile, in the nearby town of Nome, a cocky black and white Malamute puppy roamed around. His name was Steele, and he was looking for the only pup that he didn't bully: a husky called Jenna. He found her outside her house. "Hello Jenna," he began.

"Hello, Steele," she said cheerfully. She still had not been adopted, and was the last in her litter. Hopefully someone would come soon.

Steele's face took on a haughty look. "Guess what? A musher saw my strength and running ability and selected me to lead his team one day," he said. He then began to strut around proudly, completely ignoring Jenna's disapproving looks.

"That's... great, Steele!" Jenna said, "Do... do you think I'll ever get adopted?"

Steele stopped and frowned, irritated that the focus was no longer on him. "Yeah, yeah, I'm sure that you will," he said in an apathetic voice.
