"But I've seen their looks. Heard their words. What if they can't...?" Jenna sighed, and buried her face in her mother's fur.

Jenna's father looked at his daughter sternly. "Jenna, don't even think such a thing. You will be adopted soon," he said.

Jenna looked up at her father. "You sure?"

He nodded. "Yes, Jenna. If it makes you feel any better, I was the last of my litter to be adopted as well, despite being the firstborn," he said.

"Oh!" Jenna smiled, and jumped on her father playfully.

He smiled and held Jenna close. "Yes, Jenna. Now, it's going to be dark soon. Why don't you go play outside one more time?" he said.

"That's a good idea! Thanks, dad!" And so she did as she was told.

OOC: This is where Balto and Jenna meet for the first time.

Meanwhile, Balto had arrived in the town. Trying to stay out of sight, he looked around. Suddenly, his eyes fell on a red-furred female husky pup. He went over, thinking she might be a good playmate. "Hi," he said to her.

Jenna looked at the newcomer. "Who are you?" He smelled new, and strange.

Balto stepped ever closer. "My name's Balto. What's yours?" he asked.
