"Devon!" Jade said loudly running to her son and standing over him protectively. "Devon run now." She whispered nipping at his tail to make him run, but he ran towards Leonidas unknowingly, and Jade followed they both moved quickly and swiftly through the thick trees and bushes.

It was finally then that Leonidas leapt from the bushes with a fearsome snarl and began to chase the two deer.

"Devon! Jade!" her cry was fearful as she ran back to her stag. Bellows of his and other stags filled the air.
"Siarra!" Ceren yelled. She rushed to him.

Leonidas continued his chase, not stopping for anything.

All had been utterly fine one moment, with Loch laughing at the antics of the mother and son, and in a split second, it had all crashed and burned. Loch released a fierce bellow, rearing up on his hind legs and boxing the air; another bellow escaped from deep within his chest, and then he bowed his head, antlers poised and ready, as he began to chase after the danger. It was a difficult task, and he could not see exactly where Leonidas was - though the scent of puma was now extremely fragrant, he could not pinpoint any particular spot where Leonidas actually was. The big cat was swift and lean, and though there was an occasional glimpse of his lightish pelt, or the tip of his tail, Loch's mind was absolutely reeling. Panic was swelling in his belly, and suddenly his eyes shot in the direction of where Jade and Devon were fleeing. If they go that way, they'll never make it out! Loch bursted through the bushes, following the trail of Jade, and he threw himself out in front of them. "Go back! Go back towards the herd! You'll never make it this way," he barked, twisting his antlers towards them in hopes that it would convey the seriousness of his warning.

Loch was panting heavily by this point, and as he yet again darted into the thick undergrowth, he prayed that Jade and Devon would return safely to the herd. Finally, Loch stumbled upon Leonidas' lithe frame; again he rose up and battered the cool air, attempting to intimidate the predator.

Jade and Devon listened to Loch, and ran as fast as they could back to the herd, Devon stumbled and fell but like always his mother was careful and threw him onto her back using her head and neck as she kept running, scooping little Devon up.

Leonidas was not intimidate. "Posture all you want, but remember: everyone runs from Leonidas!" he said with an evil-sounding cackle.

Jade and Devon made it back to the herd, "Oh no!" Devon said in a scared tone, "Loch." Jade said also in a scared tone, she didnt want to lose anyone not now at least.

Leonidas made it past the posturing deer and headed towards the herd, hoping to take a young deer.

Jade pushed Devon aside behind the other deer before getting on her hinds and boxing at the puma, "Get away from my son!" She ordered as she hit the puma hard on the side of the neck with her hoof hopefully leaving a scar to remind him of this day.
