Balto nodded as he headed out the door. "You see? I can tell that you're going to be a great father. I will be right back," he said, disappearing and reappearing a few minutes later with Jenna at his side.

Jenna smiled as she approached the puppies. "So, Kodi, have you named them yet?" she asked.

" No not yet." Kodi said.

Jenna smiled, looking down at the little silver male. "Well, when you do, may I suggest naming this one Hamilton? It was one of the names your father and I considered for you," she said.

" And I am glad you didn't give it to me." Kodi smiled.

Jenna chuckled quietly. "We decided that Kodiak was a much better name. You were named for the Kodiak Islands. That's a place near here that I heard about from the humans," she said.

" Yeah, was thinking of Naming this one Balto the second." He smiled, pointing to the one who looked like his father.

Jenna smiled. "What a brilliant idea, Kodi. He does look like Balto. It is fitting that the hero of Nome should have yet another reminder of him, along with the statue they made of him," she said.

" Mom, you know Dad isn't like that." Kodi laughed.

Jenna leaned in. "Yes, I know that. Just don't tell him I said anything. You know how humble your father is. Anyway, I'll I can say now is that you need to be prepared for the day when they are adopted," she said, her head going down as she suppressed a small tear brought up by the memory of Kodi and his siblings being adopted.
