This is it, the apocalypse.
Helena found herself waking up to the same ash and dust. She wiped the sweat from her brow as it began to bead. It was a hot summer day, humid and in the 90's as usual. Even in the darkness of the abandoned apartment she had called home for the past few weeks, it didn't help much. She stumbled to her feet and shuffled over to the window, placing her hand on the wall while her other hand was placed on the window frame. Outside was the desolate city of New York, a once hustling and bustling metropolitan now replaced with a living hell. The very streets were littered with rotting corpses and shambling ones as well. This new virus that the agency had labeled the 'Blacklight Virus' was the newest sickness out there. It seemed to be the inevitable fate of the world to end up in another apocalypse after another.
Helena recalled when she became an agent along side Leon. She remembered those years as some of the best of her life, but the guilt of her sisters death still weighed heavy on her shoulders. Because of that bastard Simmons and his biological warfare, she had lost the most precious member of her family. Now that she was the only one left, she was determined to stay alive, apocalypse or no. Two years had passed since she went rogue from the agency for personal reasons and relations. Now that she was on her own, she didn't know whether the agency still survived or not. This new virus was the deadliest of them all and supposedly the most rampent. Spreading all over the world within a matter of days. She sighed let out a sigh and spoke to herself in a low murmur.
"Welcome to the new age, the apocalypse."
