A car pulled up slowly alongside a house in the middle of Ohio, USA, and the young girl inside the car was staring at it with a nervous feeling in her stomach. She was in her own world of nerves for a moment before the driver suddenly said in his American accent,
"Right then, your here, are you going to be ok Miss Johnson?", he asked the 14 year old Welsh girl in the passenger seat. She nodded nervously and replied in a quiet voice,
"Um-yeah...thanks".

The driver gave her a concerned look, he had drove her all the way from the airport and had known about her past. He felt sorry for her, losing your parents in a car crash and moving to America all in one year was tough, especially with being so young. The girl, Amy, opened the door and dragged her suitcase out of the car, almost forgetting her smaller bag with the more important items inside.

She closed the door gently and thanked him again. He gave her a kind smile before driving off. Amy was alone. She stood for a moment, looking at the house. So many thoughts were dominating her mind. What would Mr. Schuester and his girlfriend be like? Would they be nice to her? Would Mr. Schuester end up being like her foster father?...

Amy snapped out of it, she couldn't think about him now. No body knew of her abuse, even she couldn't believe it happened. The driver's thoughts were wrong earlier, losing your parents, being physically/mentally/and even slightly sexually abused and moving to America in one year was tough. Anyway, she began walking to the door, her legs were weak with nerves, and having to drag all of her belongings made her slower.

Meanwhile, inside the house, a ginger woman was running around, fussing over the house she now lived in.
"She'll be here any minute and the place isn't even tidy", she complained. The house was actually spotless, but Emma Pillsbury had OCD and nothing looked clean to her. It was worse when she was put under pressure. The woman was excited for the arrival of Will's second cousin, Amy, and wanted her to feel as welcome as possible.

She knew what Amy had been through to a certain extent, and that she had a foster family and they had brought her back to the care home after only a month. She knew Will was nervous, but she knew he had seen Amy when she was just a baby and he knew her mother well, they met every few years but Amy's mother never took Amy.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Emma motioned for Will to answer it, while she got in a few last seconds of cleaning.

Will Schuester was nervous, to say the least. He had agreed to take in his second cousin, a girl he had not seen since she was a baby and he honestly didn't know what to expect. Being a high school teacher, he had pretty much seen every kind of teenager there is and therefore did not know what to expect. However, he was not as nervous as his girlfriend, Emma Pillsbury, who unfortunately suffered from OCD and was desperately trying to make the house look spotless, even though it had been completely clean for a while now. He didn't know what to say to calm her down. She was in such a frenzy about cleaning up that he wasn't sure if he'd be able too make her relax.

There was a knock on the door, and Will saw Emma signal for him to answer it. He took a deep breath. He knew this was it, this was the moment that would change everything. He walked up to the door, grabbed the handle and opened it. He found himself looking down at a beautiful young girl with long blonde hair and eyes as blue as the sky. He smiled at her. "Hey, you must be Amy. Welcome! Please come in!" He said and stepped aside to let the girl into their home.

Amy took a deep breath as she saw the door open, she could feel her heart beat quicken and legs shake ever so slightly as she finally saw the inside of the house. Her senses were hit by the smell and sight of cleanliness. She was glanced around quickly, she had never seen a place so spotless. She wasn't sure whether she liked it or not, maybe they were just clean people. Then she could hear a voice, looking to her side and then up, she finally saw who she knew was Will Schuester.

She had seen him in photo's before, he was a little older now though, 30 at least, but Amy had always caught herself looking at his photos. Admiring how good looking he was almost. Amy had her father's eyes, but her mother shared her green eyes with Will. She envied them for a moment, missing looking into her own mother's eyes, and could see alot of Will's features were like her mother's, of course Hannah Johnson (nee Schuester) had the more womanly versions. Amy had inherited her natural beauty from her mother though, and the blonde hair.

Amy gave him a small shy smile,
"Um...hi", she said quietly before stepping in, letting her suitcase just stand . She listened to herself in comparison to him, she did have an accent after all. She sounded sort of Welsh but English too, but her American grandmother and always said it was cute. Back to reality, even though she was sort of happy to meet Will, she had always felt a little more indimated around men, especially after her foster family failure. She then heard another voice, with a different kind of American accent,

"Hello Amy, I'm Will's girlfriend", Amy's attention was drawn to a ginger woman with large Bambi eyes, and how she said it almost proudly. Just by the look Emma gave Will after she said that showed Amy that Emma adored him, Amy was a sucker for romance, and they looked as though they made a cute couple. Amy felt a little calmer all of a sudden, and smiled a little more, "Hello...um-I think my mum mentioned you before", she stopped, talking about her mother was too painful. Emma felt awkwardness in the air when the young girl mentioned her mother, but she continued to talk to get it out of the way,

"I'm Emma...was the flight here ok?". The 14 year old nodded,
"Y-Yeah, it was ok". However, she was thinking to herself about how it wasn't. She had never been on a flight on her own, and when the attendant asked where her parents were, she had the difficult part of explaining. The attendant obviously sympathized and apologized. And she was tired, and she knew she had jet lag coming from the timezone change and 8 hour flight.

Will could tell Amy was nervous, and why wouldn't she be? She had gone through a lot this past year and now she was suddenly at the doorstep of a practical stranger and had learn to live in a new house, with new people, in a new country. No wonder she was scared, anyone would be if they were in her situation. Will saw Emma come closer and stand next to him. He looked into her beautiful eyes and smiled adoringly at her.
He noticed how tense the atmosphere seemed to be, and although Emma was being her usual warm self, Will could still see how damaged Amy was and he felt sorry for her.
"So, uh... How about we show you around the place, and then if you want you can get some food and rest." Will suggested, looking at Amy. He assumed she didn't want to spend a lot of time simply standing in the hallway. So while he awaited her reply, he wondered what their life would be like now. Taking in a teenager would change everything and so he now imagined what their dinners would be like and if they would have family movie nights. He didn't know what the future would hold, but he was sure it would be eventful.

Amy was waiting for Will to speak, and she found herself again looking at his eyes. They were the exact shade of emerald green her mother had. She found herself sighing a little. She missed her mother more than anything. She had to go through all the girl stuff on her own, and had no one to comfort her. Of course she had to tell someone about it, but it would never be the same. Amy was interrupted by Will speaking again. Before she could reply Emma added,

"I can't wait to show you your room!". The woman was excited for three reasons, 1, she had obviously decorated the room herself, 2, she was trying to make a good impression on Amy, and 3, she had a feeling that Amy would pull all three of them closer together. Amy's lips curled into a small smile, she nodded and picked up the handle on her suitcase as Emma lead her out of the living room. She was too excited even to check Will was following. "This is the kitchen", she said, directing her comment to the decent sized and once again, clean kitchen. Amy loved good food, there was no doubt about it, and she found herself thinking about cooking in this kitchen.

Before she could take it in she found Emma walking away and to the stairs. Amy followed and then began the task of carrying both her bags up the stairs too. Emma turned round and gasped, "Oh, let me take that for you. Should of asked if you needed help ages ago". Amy gave a little smile and found the suitcase out of her hand before she could agrue. "Thanks", she replied. They continued going up the stairs until Emma reached the first door, which was closed.

"Well, that's our room. And if you need anything, anything at all in the night, please come and get us". Amy nodded, but in her mind she raised an eye brow. Most adults would say 'knock first' or not even offer, for obvious reasons. Adults would be adults. Maybe the two weren't intimate yet or something. She wondered if they had noticed her moment of thought, but she doubted it. Emma however was thinking over what she just said. Of course, Emma was shy about the whole '30 year old virgin' thing and her OCD made stuff like that difficult, but she didn't know whether Amy had picked up on it.

Emma planned to tell her about her OCD, for she'd eventually find out something was going on with her. Emma had moved onto the next door, which was in the middle. She opened it and said, "Well, this is the bathroom of course, or shower-room, or anything else you call it". Amy eye's had watered slightly with the smell of bleach. She wiped them away and quickly looked for the lock on the door.

Emma saw the nervous glance and said,
"The door has a lock, don't you fret". Amy was relieved and a question popped into mind, being the responsible teenager she was and remembering how her old foster home worked, "Is there um-like a hot water limit or anything?". Emma shook her head,
"Nope, there used to be before I started living here...but I have alot of showers so I had the boiler changed". Amy wondered what she meant by alot of showers but before she had time to think, she was whisked away to the last room on the second floor. "And this is your bedroom".

The room had a simple but effective blue and white colour scheme with patterns along the wall. Not too much to be 'in your face' but not too little to be boring. There were a few pieces of other furniture around the room. Including the double bed, there was a small bedside table with a modern, contemporary lamp on top of it, a large wardrobe with mirrors on the doors, selves around the room, and also a set of drawers on the opposite side of the room to the wardrobe. Emma grinned proudly at her handy work,
"So, do you like it?".

Amy, even though she knew no room could live up to her one at her old home with her parents, thought the room was lovely. Blue was her favourite colour, and it was a wonder that Emma could get everything so perfect without even knowing her. Amy found her self grinning back,
"I love it, it's perfect". She was speaking in a normal tone, something about seeing a room, empty, waiting for her to put stuff on selves and fill draws made her excited.

Will smiled at Emma's eagerness to show Amy around, and soon enough he was following them everywhere. He watched as Emma showed her the kitchen, before hurrying upstairs to continue the tour. He followed a few steps behind Amy, loving the sight of Emma showing her around. He was sure that in good time the two would get along great. It was practically impossible to not like Emma, with the exception of a certain person by the name of Sue Sylvester. Will thought for a moment about what would happen if Amy and Sue met, and he did not like what he saw. Amy seemed like such a sweet and sensitive girl, and Sue... Well, Sue is Sue.

When they reached Amy's room at last, Will felt a bit nervous. What if she didn't like it? What if it wasn't her style at all? However, he felt a good vibe coming from the girl when she saw it and when she said it was perfect he felt overjoyed. Perhaps making her feel at home wouldn't be all too hard. Will stepped forward and smiled. "How about we let you settle in, and Emma and I will fix you something to eat and drink. You must be hungry after such a long trip." He said, putting his arm around Emma's waist and holding her close.

Amy let herself calm down a bit, she couldn't believe how happy she just was. Obviously these people were going to have a good effect on her, well, she hoped they would. Something about her situation though made her just a little untrusting, and she knew deep down it would take time to get used to Will and Emma. Especially Will. Maybe she could even tell them about what happened between her and her foster parent...no, she couldn't, even thinking about it made her feel sick.

Emma was watching Amy, she could see she was in deep thought, and her mood had changed. After being around emotional kids for a good while in her life, she could tell if something was bothering someone. She decided not to question it though, especially at feeling Will pull her close, making her smile,
"Yep, we've got chicken and salad for dinner, is that ok with you?". Amy nodded, in fact, she thought to herself that chicken and salad sounded light enough for her to handle. Emma left, taking Will by the hand with her and downstairs.

They reached the kitchen and she smiled at him, before getting some stuff out of the frige, after a few moments of fumbling around in the kitchen she turned to Will and gave him a thoughtful look, "Do you think she'll like it here? Do you think she'll like us?". Meanwhile, Amy had just been checking out her room. Opening the draws, then the wardrobe to find some hangers already there for her clothes. Smiling she put her suitcase on the bed, which she had already sat on to test it out. It was just right.

She opened it, taking out her clothes and toiletries etc. However, her smaller bag attracted her attention. She carefully took out the items, one by one. There was a necklace with a locket, a handmade bracelet, an autograph book from Disneyland Paris, and a photo frame. She placed all these items on her bedside draws and admired each one. They were her keepsakes. The necklace and bracelet and autograph book (complete with all the hard earned signatures) were from her parents, the photo frame and the photo inside was a picture she treasured. It was her 13th birthday, the last photo taken before her parents died.

The three of them stood, smiling, her dad has his arm around her mother, and he had a hand on Amy's shoulder. Her mother held Amy close with her arms from behind, like she never wanted to let go. Amy bit her bottom lip,
"Why did you have to leave me?", she asked them aloud, but in a weak voice. She looked away, eyes full of tears. She missed them. Alot. Standing up she began to unpack her stuff, trying to take her mind off things. She found herself almost enjoying placing things where she wanted them.

Will was happy to hear that Amy liked chicken and salad, because had had been somewhat nervous about her food tastes. As far as he knew, she could've been a vegan like Rachel and simply refuse to eat meat. However, after Amy seemed keen on having chicken, he figured she ate both meat and vegetables, which was a good thing. She was a growing girl and needed all her nutrients. "Come down whenever you want, Amy." Will said and followed Emma downstairs.

Hey headed into the kitchen, and while Emma got some food out of the fridge, Will pulled out plates, knives and forks to set the table. He placed them on the counter while heading to get the glasses. He looked at Emma as she asked him a question and he smiled. "I'm sure she's going to like it, and hopefully she'll like us too. But let's not forget she is in a tough situation... It may take time for her to feel comfortable around here." Will said to his girlfriend before taking the glasses over to where he'd placed the plates, knives and forks on the counter so that everything was ready to be set on the table when dinner was closer to being finished.

Emma was just finishing cooking when she took time to reply to Will. She saw him set the table, and looked to the third spot which was not usually set.
"She's left handed you know". Emma could tell Will would ask how she figured it out any moment now, she smiled before adding, "She used her left hand for everything she did since she arrived". She walked over and swapped the knife and fork over before dishing up and placing a jug of water on the table. Amy had just nipped to the bathroom, washed her hands and brushed her hair. She rubbed her eyes tiredly, she'd have to get an early night.

A thought just occurred to her. School. She was already quite an intelligent girl, and ahead of her year, but she wondered when she'd have to go back. She doubted they'd make her go back just yet, it was a Sunday, and she wondered if they'd let her have a bit of time adjusting. She sighed, looking at herself in the mirror in the bathroom before exiting and going down the stairs, preparing for what she knew was going to be an awkward first dinner for her.

Will set the table while Emma finished cooking the dinner. It felt strange setting the table for a third person, but at the same time it felt right. He looked up at her when she spoke and was surprised to hear what she had said. "Wow! You sure are observant." He commented with a smile. Her eye for detail was one of the many things he loved and adored about her. He stepped aside as she switched the knife and fork, and then slipped into the living room to put on some nice, quiet background music.

When he returned he adjusted the lighting to make it more cozy, as he didn't want Amy to feel too uncomfortable. He turned around just to see Amy's feet appear as she walked down the stairs. He smiled, hoping that the table looked good enough and that they'd be able to provide a loving environment for her.
