Gathering Tragedies [Tsuki 1x1 unikels]

Graystar stood on the Highrock, unsure on how to spend his first day as a leader. He and his so-called ‘beloved mate’ had broken up, then she disappeared. He felt so alone, and Bumblestripe wasn’t any help. He tried to ignore the screaming sound coming from the nursery, specifically Whitewing’s voice. He had chosen Cinderheart as his deputy. She was a good cat. He wasn’t so sure it would last. Bramblestar and Firestar had gone so quickly, and his heart ached and he wished he had a little more time.

Meanwhile inside the nursery, a tortoiseshell kit was just born. She was licked clean by her mother and stamped with the name Sandkit. In the future of Graystar’s long reign, she’d be medicine cat, fall into a forbidden love, survive an earthquake, go through the grief of a disloyal moving sister, live with RiverClan, watch a parental breakup, and die a warrior. The little she-kit mewed and was actually at her mother’s paws instead of her teats. She reached out, accidently hitting her mother’s neck, but was moved to the belly by no other then her future mentor.

There was a confusion of smells and sounds. Where was she? What had happened to her? Poppykit tried to raise her head and mewled. She then felt something strong and wet on her back. She did not know that it was her mother trying to comfort her by licking her tortoiseshell fur. But it felt warm. Guided only by smell, Poppykit scrambled towards her mothers belly. But she felt another presence. She wasn't alone here. Who was that next to her? It surely wasn't the same creature that had licked her before. But there was no time to think about that now. Poppykit was hungry.

Greystar listened as the yowling stopped and her heard the soft mewling sounds of kits. His heart swelled with pride for his Clan. The clan was in need of more apprentices. Every since Bramblestar had given his last life. Greystar's ears twitched. Bramblestar hadn't been Clan leader for long and it almost seemed like he gave away his lifes too easilly. It had been a fox that had got him in the end. The fox had strayed to close to the camp and Bramblestar had run out to meet it...and his death.

Greystar looked over at Squirrelflight. She had been Bramblestar's deputy but after her mate's death, she had been stricken with grief and could not ascend to Clan leader. She had passed leadership onto Greystripe. Greystripe had been unsure whether Starclan would accept him as Clan leader and he had been releaved when he had received his nine lives. His best friend and old Clan Leader Firestar had given him his ninth life. At this thought something stirred inside Greystar, like a flame. This was Firestar's legacy. He looked over at the nursery and jumped down from high ledge. He padded slowly over to the nusery enterance, hoping to welcome the new kits to the Clan.

The fawn tortoiseshell mewed as she brushed against her slightly younger sister, and felt a ripple against the teat and some sort of scream unsealed her ears. They twitched to take in the new sounds, and she could hear herself. She stopped making noise then made noise, testing her vocal cords in total confusion. What. The.

Blinking his amber eyes, Graystar sat down and licked a gray paw, joined by Birchfall. The nutmeg tabby tom purred in delight at his newest daughters and licked his white mate's head, followed by Ivypool and Dovewing, who were bouncing back and forth she-cat things. Little did the leader know, that he was staring down his third and final and most dramatic love story.

Poppykit nudged the object next to her. It felt furry, not all unlike herself. But what was it doing her? Being blind she couldn't see what was going on. She could only feel the warmth of her mother and this thing next to her. She tried to clamber over this furry thing as she tried to get even closer to her mother and food. She mewled slightly in confusion. All she wanted was food.

There was a mew and a weight on top of her. Now Sandkit would have to do a trick to roll over. But how could she with this big butt hanging around? Flipping over, and trying to hang on to the teat, Sandkit made a fart-like noise from her nose. Well, whatever that was.

Graystar turned around and left, missing his own two mates. One was dead and one was probably being battered around by a ShadowClanner just from hating him and running away. Checking on Briarlight, whom was fast asleep, his gray body sauntered back to where he started. The Highrock.

Poppykit woke up and yawned. It had been a week since she had been born and she had noticed a change. Instead of darkness, she had started to see dark blurs at the edge of her vision. She blinked and was surprised at this action. She could blink? She had never been able to do that before. After a while the blurs turned into shapes and light. Poppykit shut her eyes as she found the light painful. She then opened her eyes again and looked around her, taking in this new change. She looked up to see her mother lick her forehead.

"Welcome to the world again Poppykit"

Poppykit blinked and looked around her. It was then that she saw her sister for the first time and she gave a mewl of excitement before pouncing on her.

Sandkit opened her hazel eyes in surprise and quickly shut them. Whoa, brain change. Mewing, she pushed Poppykit away gently before seeing her father Birchfall for the first time. He looked exactly like her when she looked at herself in the puddle, except she had spots instead of stripes. She could walk around too, although it took her a while not to wobble as much. Looking down at her other sister, a dark brown tabby, she noticed the little runt was quite small. Looking to Nightkit, the reincarnation of Scourge, whom would still find out about his first life, was sitting in the corner, staring at them with piercing cyan eyes.

Graystar rolled around in his nest, too comfortable to get up, so he sent Cinderheart to be in charge for a day. He felt a little wheezy, but wanted to see if it was a stomach bug before turning himself in to Jayfeather.

(Oh I thought it was just Popy and Sand and then two others from a different mum. Brain fail!)

Poppykit tumbled off Sandkit quite heavilly and she mewed in surprise. She then struggling onto her feet and looked around her, noticing her father for the first time. She tilted her head in confusion. She didn't look like him. In fact her coat was almost completely different. She turned her head and noticed Nightkit who was frowning at them. What was wrong with him? Was the light hurting his eyes? She padded over to him and nudged him gently.

"Want to play?" (I assume they can talk now?)

Cinderheart was padding past the nussery and she stuck her head through the enterance.

"How are the to be apprentices doing?"

Poppykit raised her head and stopped prodding Nightkit who was grumbling.
