The Pridelands are the main setting for the three Lion King movies, and for the spin-off books. In the real world, they would be situated in the African Savanna. In the Pridelands, a Lion rules as king, and keeps the peace between the animals. When a king dies, the next in line will take the throne, that could be a sibling or an off-spring.
Near the Pridelands, there is an Elephant Graveyard and The Outlands.
